  1. Apple, carrot, and quartered green cabbage on a wooden board with chef’s knife — prep for slaw.
    1) Prep the produce. Quarter the cabbage and core; keep the apple and carrot handy.
  2. Box grater with fresh carrot shreds on a cutting board; apple in background.
    2) Grate the carrot. Use the coarse side of the grater for a little crunch.
  3. Cabbage, carrot, and apple slaw tossed with creamy cider dressing in a wide bowl; two spoons for mixing.
    3) Whisk dressing & toss. Mayonnaise, sugar (or honey), apple cider vinegar, a splash of cider, salt & pepper. Toss to coat; massage the cabbage lightly if you like it softer.
  4. Close-up of creamy cabbage-apple-carrot slaw with crisp textures.
    4) Chill & finish. Chill for at least 1 hour for flavors to mingle. Taste and adjust salt/acid/sweetness before serving.
